"MrSippy? FirePrinse? My_lil_Zaffie?" Tammy sat up on her bed, yawned, and looked around the room. It was the same as she had remembered it, Leslie was asleep on the air mattress and Zelda was in the recliner. All seemed okay, but the pets were gone! How can a quiggle, lupe, and zafara just disappear in one night? "Leslie! Zelda! Wake up!" Tammy jumped to her feet and dashed frantically around the room, searching for the missing pets. "Huh? Wha?" Leslie opened one eye and glanced around the room, unsure as to why Tammy was freaking out. However, as Leslie stretched and Tammy continued to dance around searching for the lost pets, Zelda continued to sleep, unaware of the kidnapping that occurred. Tammy pounced on the recliner and yelled at the top of her lungs. "Your zafara is missing! WAKE UP!" Now, this was rather unusual considering the fact that Tammy is not one to awaken others at her sleepovers. For those who do not know Tammy, she can be very lazy. Tammy sleeps during class, but when she isn't sleeping she is eating. Of course, she is not always like this, she is a strong swimmer. But back to the story... "Huh? My_lil_Zaffie?" Zelda yawned and looked around the room. "She probably went for a walk, she loves morning walks." "No! Look!" Leslie noticed something that Tammy did not, a note! There was a note taped to the TV, and in very bad handwriting it said: To the owners of these tasty morsels, Your pets have been taken to a very high class restaurant. There, we will use them in our fabulous soups and stews. Please do not worry, Pets can be replaced. However, a good profit on opening day cannot! Thank you for your cooperation. -Gross Food Inc.
Tammy grabbed the letter and looked at it, then, after realizing she was completely unable to see the writing, grabbed her glasses. "Oh no! This is terrible! I can't stand the idea of anyone eating my poor quiggle! I love him to bits!" Neither Leslie nor Tammy noticed Zelda, who was in shock. "My_lil_Zaffie...stu...soup...Those words should not be used together without "is eating" separating them! We have to save our pets!" She jumped off the chair and raced towards the door but was stopped when Tammy grabbed the back of her PJ's. "Uh, you may not want to leave, wearing that." She was referring to the bunny pajamas that Zafara was wearing. After changing into proper clothes and calling up two more Senshi for backup, Leslie, Tammy, and Zelda left. They were off to meet the others at the laundromat. For some strange reason, the laundromat was always a good place for the Senshi to meet. It smelled dryer fresh! "Ji? Aikouka? Are you here yet?" Leslie scampered towards the corner where the couches were set. She glanced around before having a seat with Tammy and Zelda. "We have a problem here. Not only are our pets about to be eaten, but this is a serious food sanitation violation!" "MrSippy...poor lil' guy! He was so young." Tammy laid her head in her hands and sighed. "But, we can't give up. If we work together I'm sure we'll be able to get our pets back!" Just as she said that, Ji and Aikouka ran in. "Our pets are gone too! Something is seriously wrong! I was watching the news this morning, we aren't the only ones who are missing our beloved pets." Aikouka took a seat next to Tammy. "There is only one villain disgusting enough to even think about using neopets as food." Ji knew who it was, as did the others. "Sloth," they all said in unison. "Well, we must find out what "restaurant" is stealing our pets! Now, have any of you seen a new restaurant pop up anywhere?" Leslie stood up, looking at each of them. "Actually, yes! There is a new food place up by my house! Let's go!" Aikouka jumped up. "I'm going to find JupiterShinozaki if it's the last thing I do!" They all jumped up and followed Aikouka to her house. "There! I see it! Eww, it looks so unclean and gross!" Ji pointed to a building. "Um.. Ji, that's McDonald's." Tammy chuckled to herself. Now, don't get me wrong, not all McDonald's are horribly unclean and so gross that they could be mistaken for restaurants that use neopets for food but... Oh, yeah, right. So they continued to look around, it was Zelda who pointed it out. "That must be it! Remember the note? It said it was a "high class restaurant"! That is the only place around here that could look like a high class restaurant." They all stepped closer to the building, it was a fine looking restaurant. "All right, let's go in!" Tammy was the first to walk in, she was followed by Leslie, then Ji, then Aikouka, and finally Zelda. Zelda was very reluctant to go in, would you like to go into a restaurant where they could be serving your pet? "Okay, we have to find out where they are keeping the pets. If anyone would like to turn back now, now is your chance." Leslie looked around the group, her voice was but a whisper that could barely be heard over the chatting of customers and the clattering of dishes from the kitchen. "Now, I think we should just try to slip into the kitchen, hopefully unnoticed." So they all followed Leslie, past the smiling waiters and the nice looking Hostess. When they came to the door of the kitchen, they each slipped in quietly. After wandering around the kitchen, suprisingly unnoticed by the Grundos who were cooking, they noticed a large steel door with "Stock" written upon it in black letters. "Something tells me, this is where the pets are. All the pets." Leslie looked around the group. "Brace yourselves, we have no idea who or what is inside!" "I have... a really bad feeling about this." Ji put her hand on the door. "Something is going to happen in there, maybe we should transform." "Good idea. But be quiet about it, we don't want to be noticed." Aikouka looked to the cooks on the other side of the room. They all shouted, er, whispered their various henshin phrases and transformed unnoticed. "Okay, now follow me." Lupe pushed the door open and stepped inside, it was very dark, but not quiet. They could all hear sounds like scratching on metal. Quiggle, Bruce, Shoyru, and Zafara followed. "I.. can't.. see.." She squinted and tried to see, but it was hopeless. They all scrambled around, tripping over each other, and running in to things before finding the light switch. Lights around the room flickered on, the sight to follow was horrible. There were hundreds of metal cages stacked upon each other. In each cage there were pets, all species and all colors. "Oh.. My.. I had no idea this many pets were missing!" Shoyru shouted "Shoyru Hover" and wings sprouted from her back. "I'm going to go check it out, maybe I can find a way to open these cages." She flew off and started to examine the cages. "I think I found FirePrinse!" Leslie let out a sigh of relief, but knew the senshi had to continue. They walked up and down the rows of cages, occasionally seeing Shoyru zoom by above. "Hey! I think I found something!" Zafara ran towards another large door with a sign "The Boss" written upon it. "This could be a trap. We should be cautious." She put her head to the door and listened. "Good job, Zafara!" Quiggle approached the door and grabbed the handle, but it was locked. "Blast! Locked. Bruce, maybe you can cut off the door knob" Bruce decided to try. "Bruce Jive and Sword!" She slowly brought her sword down upon the lock and with a flick of her wrist, the lock was sliced off. "Good job! Okay, now let's go in!" Leslie kept her voice low as she pushed the door open and they all went into the room. In the room they could only see the silhouette of someone sitting at a computer desk. It seemed like a 15 year old girl with elephante ears. Quiggle narrowed her eyes, something was familiar, but the thought was quickly abandoned. "We have you surrounded! Now tell us, who are you working for?" Leslie shouted at the girl and stepped towards her. "Stop. Do not come closer." The chair turned and sure enough, there was a girl in the chair. She had her hair like that of an elephante, and she was wearing a long black dress, but seemed harmless. She raised her hand slowly; wires trailed from her finger tips. She pointed at Quiggle, then the others. "You are not welcome here. Leave now." Her voice was in monotone. "No, we aren't just going to leave! We can't just leave!" Zafara stepped forward. "Why don't you just leave and give us our pets back!" "No, your pets are your source of power. Pets are the source of all of Neopia's power. They must be destroyed." The girl pointed her hand at Zafara and shot a sort of laser at her. Zafara yelled and ran behind Leslie. "Lupe Lunge!" Lupe was the first to attack this strange girl, she shot two lupe paws from her hands and hit her target. ZZZZZZZT! Wires were ripped out of the poor girl when the attack was used, she fell to the ground. "Darn you, Sailor Lupe!" A very familiar voice came from the large computer monitor. The senshi stared up into the eyes of Sloth. "You have made a mistake! You should have learned by now never to interfere with my plans! Right now, my grundo squads are coming after you! Did you really think all of those workers out there were just there by accident? No! Of course not! I have trained them well, very well. This is our last meeting, Sailor Neopets! Mwahaha!" The monitor shut off, and Lupe turned to see Zafara, Bruce, and Quiggle running to the limp body of the girl. Shoyru ran in the door, yelling. "Guys! There are grundos coming! Lots of grundos! Too many to count!" "Quiggle, you stay here with that girl! Try to, well, try to keep her alive. We'll go hold off the grundos!" Lupe and the others ran out of the room, leaving Quiggle in there with the mysterious girl. "Something seems familiar about you..." She looked at the girl and then realized it. "Layla!" She knew this girl from so many years ago, this was her best friend, Layla Grandisimo. "Oh, Layla! I knew I recognized you when I saw that story in the paper, 'Girl on Tyrannian gymnastic team goes missing'! Oh, Layla, wake up!" She sighed, it seemed no use. She looked out of the door and saw the other senshi, fighting what appeared to be a thousand grundos. "...No...Layla! Wake up!" "Mmmm.." Layla groaned, opening one eye, peering at Quiggle. "Who.. Who are you? Where am I?" She looked around the room, then jumped to her feet. "Ahhh! Where am I!" Just as she said that, the sacred chalice appeared in front of her. "Layla's one of us? I never would have guessed. Quick, Layla! Yell 'Elephante neo power make-up'!" "Elephante neo power make-up? Why would- AHH! What's happening?" Layla was suddenly enveloped in rays of light emanating from an Elephante-style gem on her chest. When the beams of light parted, Sailor Elephante was standing before Quiggle. "I don't know what just happened, but that was pretty cool!" "Quiggle Splash!" Quiggle ran out of the room, joining the attack on the grundos. Elephante followed her, she knew what she had to do. "Elephante Blast!" A gun was summoned out of nowhere and small cotton balls were shot at the grundos. Despite the soft appearance of the cotton balls, they were powerful. The attacks on the grundos continued, but during the attack, shoyru left. The senshi could not recall when she left, but Shoyru was nowhere to be found. Just when it seemed hopeless for the senshi to win, the sounds of metal doors opening echoed throughout the building. The senshi looked up to see all the cages open and neopets were jumping down onto the grundos. The neopets knew who was responsible for locking them in those cages, and they were getting revenge. It was a lot like one big battledome tournament using every neopet in neopia. Sailor Shoyru followed the neopets into the squabble. "Ah ha! I knew I could get those cages open!" she yelled as she joined the fight. Eventually, the grundos were defeated. The senshi looked around the room filled with neopets and then ran towards the door they entered through. As neopets began to trail out of the restaurant, the senshi stepped to the side to de-transform, unnoticed. They followed the neopets out, hoping to be re-united with their own outside the restaurant. "Sippy!" Tammy saw her beloved quiggle and ran to him, hugging him tightly. "Oh Sippy, I was so worried!" Slowly, all the senshi there were reunited with their pets. Even Layla's elephante, Daisy, ran up from out of no where and glomped her. "Wow, Tammy. Today was strange, I don't know how I got there. But thank you!" Layla and Tammy hugged, the two best friends were re-united once again. This adventure was the start to many things, it was the start of Layla's joining the senshi and the start of a re-united friendship. |
